FAST -
2011 Many of you in the Florida racing
community have followed the Sunoco Florida All Stars Tour during its
inaugural year, and you are aware of the level of success the series was able
to achieve in 2010. This success took the form of nine highly competitive
100-lap events, with an average car count of 26 entries per event. Even more
noteworthy, though, was the diversity of the competition. Nearly 100
individual super late model, limited late model, and ASA crate late model
teams took part in series events, making FAST a highly popular touring series
for Florida’s drivers, track promoters, and fans. The objectives set for FAST
were met, thanks to the cooperation of a great number of people both within
and around the series. Looking ahead to 2011, the FAST
management team finds itself in a difficult position. Despite the past year’s
clear accomplishments, the promoters/owners of the tracks where the series
competed in 2010 have elected to not invite FAST to return.
Accordingly, we have no confirmed dates for 2011. We are researching the
possibility of several special events to be promoted under the ”FAST” banner,
but no details are available at this time. Stay tuned to our website over the
coming weeks and months for new announcements. Until then, the FAST management
team extends a sincere note of appreciation to everyone who participated with
us during 2010—drivers, race teams, track staff members, media, and
especially the fans. All of you contributed to making the Florida All Stars
Tour a success. |
